The largest airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific Air (PSE: CEB) recently launched direct flights between Hong Kong and Kalibo. It is a thrice weekly service (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday), utilizing the airline’s brand-new Airbus A320 fleet.
The route offers a more convenient and affordable way for passengers to travel to the island paradise of Boracay. In 2012, US-based magazine Travel + Leisure’s annual survey named Boracay as the World’s Best Island, in a list that included Santorini, Bali and Galapagos. Boracay was also named the Best Beach in Asia by TripAdvisor in its 2015 Traveller’s Choice Awards.
